California Department of Transportation crews plan to remove and replace broken, aging asphalt along Rosemead Boulevard and place a slurry seal on the fresh pavement this June, officials said. The project will stretch along two miles of the boulevard through the San Gabriel Valley cities of Rosemead, El Monte, South El Monte and Temple City. The southernmost end of the work zone begins on Garvey Avenue in South El Monte. The project's northern end is near the city limit of Temple City at the Rudell Underpass of the Union Pacific Railroad.
